I was recently invited as one of 12 speakers to present opportunities awaiting junior and senior college students in the fields of biology, environmental science and human health science at the Nevada State Biology and Environmental Science Colloquium. My presentation focused on my journey as a student and medical illustrator. I discuss medical illustration as an academic and professional career path as well as my personal experiences in the field so far.
Before going to graduate school for medical illustration, I worked at the Florida State University Anatomy Lab. While I was there, I was able to paint two murals for the lab!
Featuring a skeleton looking at a skull and a set of neuroscience illustrations, I hope that these murals still inspire med students to have engaging conversations and think visually.
